I just saw The Little Mermaid recently and every time I watch the
movie or listen to the soundtrack I have this unstoppable urge to draw Ariel haha
I think her story is more compelling than all the other princess
stories that Disney has made. I like her naive nature and she
really forces her emotions into you. When she's sad you're sad, when she's happy you're happy. And she's a dreamer which is
relatable to anyone who has ever had a dream.

edit: Hans Christian Andersen has been mentioned 8 billion times, no more plz & yes I've heard the story.

Watercolor, each on a 4x4 watercolor cold press

This is beautiful~! I loved how you used watercolors, since it's Ariel, and Under the Sea and all that. And you draw hair amazingly~!

Beautiful interpretations of Ariel from color to emotions! I love how all of them are practically stillframes--with a twist. The last one looks the most modern, almost as if she's dancing at a nightclub. it's always good to see your work. It turns out to be some of the most refreshing on this godforsaken site. :iconiloveitplz:

No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between his shoulderblades will seriously cramp his style.

She really is one of the most animated princesses, maybe even characters in general, that Disney has.
Beautiful work, too. *A* I like how your watercolours incorporate into the texture.

This is not an offense against you, but it bugs me immensely when Ariel is not drawn spot on like the original drawings. That said, the poses and colors are fantastic.

As for Ariel's nature, you can thank lead animator Glen Keane for that.

Human tragedy and comedy are both caused by fear, selfishness, and ignorance.

Practical optimistic is a contradictory oxymoron.

At least 10% of every experience is a learning experience.
